Tents and Trees (C64)
A deceptively simple puzzle game written for the C64 Cassette 50 competition, in which entries were only allowed to occupy memory below $1000 (4,096 bytes). The game code was written in a day, however I had produced the graphics beforehand.
The aim of the game is to place a tent adjacent to each tree in such a way that the correct number are in each row and column, as shown by the numbers alongside. When you have the correct number in a particular row or column, the number will turn green. Tents cannot be placed if there is no tree to the left, right, above or below.
You can move the flashing selection box around the grid using the joystick (arrow keys), and place or remove a tent by pressing fire (Z).
As you complete more levels the size of the grid, and therefore the complexity of the puzzles, increases. The quicker you solve each puzzle, the more points are added to your score, up to a maximum of 99 per grid. Puzzles are created using procedural generation so there is an endless number to solve.
You can currently play in the browser above - after the competition deadline has passed, the game will be available for download to play on real hardware, TheC64, VICE or other emulators.

Mine yey. About time someone made a better version of it lol
Great little game. Also started to get buggy after 10+levels. Lost the bottom row of numbers as well as gf/x getting corrupt.
I like the game for beeing relaxing and easy to understand. Unfortunately the level counter became buggy after a while. The digit next to the "0" kinda looked like a QR code :D
